Havkraft’s PowerBooster is the perfect complement to offshore wind. While offshore wind is already a cornerstone of the energy transition, it does not have to stand alone. PowerBooster units can be installed between wind turbines to create a more stable and efficient power park. Wind and wave energy do not compete for space or resources, and they complement each other well. When the wind drops, the waves often keep rolling, which ensures smoother and more continuous power production. Together, wind and waves flatten the production profile, increase full-load hours, and provide a more stable baseload for the entire installation.

From both an energy and grid perspective, the solution is highly efficient. Shared infrastructure such as cables, substations, and maintenance vessels reduces CAPEX per MWh. More predictable output eases grid balancing and strengthens the business case for hybrid parks, while licensed acreage is better utilized by extracting more energy per square kilometer. Each PowerBooster can be tailored to deliver around 5,000–6,000 kWh per day, with no emissions, no fuel, and minimal maintenance. A single wind farm has room for many units, which can be placed between turbines without affecting service vessel access. Havkraft is now qualifying the technology and expects large-scale commercial deployment before 2030.
