Havkraft was founded in 2009 with a vision to harness energy from ocean waves. The company’s founder initiated the development by designing and building several prototypes, some tested in laboratories and others at sea – always with support from experienced engineering partners.
The early years were about exploring possibilities and demonstrating that the concept could work. This required time and resources, and as a one-man venture without in-house technologists, progress naturally moved at as lower pace.
In 2021, Havkraft hired its first dedicated employee, and since then development has accelerated significantly. We have built a strong team and are now working systematically and purposefully on the qualification, certification, and advancement of the technology. With a solid history, valuable experience, and a professional development path in place, we are today better positioned than ever to realize the full potential of wave power.
