If you make things simple, less things can break.

When dealing with one of the greatest forces in nature - the ocean waves - you have to keep things simple and robust. Eventually nature will of course have their victory over our man made technology. The challenge is to withstand the forces for as long as possible. The H-WEC is constructed with no movable parts in the sea, transporting only compressed air into the turbines, making survival offshore possible through decades ahead.
